Jackson copes exceptionally well with Ivanhoe’s relentlessly high-tessitura music – attractive vocalism with startling high notes. He’s worth the price of admission….Kuhn’s lovely dark soprano fits in well with the other dark voices. It’s a big, fat, meaty voice with lots of vocal colors and power – another rare find in the singing department. Then Penttinen’s laser-voiced mezzo Rebecca springs on to the scene with ferocious force and stunning excitement….With chorus and orchestra roaring their own excitement, the audience must have been practically blown out of the theatre. Wow! This is one fine find of an opera and performance.”
