CRITIC REVIEW:

“Apparently, this 1938 broadcast of Paliashvili’s DAISI is the ‘first pre-war operatic performance to be released. The work received its premičre in 1923….There is much that reminds me of the colours in Rimsky-Korsavov’s operas….It is a tuneful score, full of colour and passion, with some winning arias….David Gamrekeli is included among the bonus recordings on the second CD.[also] Nina Alexandriyskaya…and the bass Georgy Gogichadze, whose rich tones register sonorously….”
