Biographical Note:
"Gdal Saleski was a Ukrainian cellist and composer. Above all, he has become known as a writer. Saleski studied at the Leipzig Conservatory between 1909 and 1911 and later at the St Petersburg Conservatory. In 1911 he was involved in a number of concerts in Odessa with the later star violinist Jascha Heifetz . He was a member of the Gewandhaus Orchestra as a cellist. He emigrated to the United States in 1921 in the Norwegian wave of emigrants. He was part of the New York Symphony Orchestra and was a member of the original NBC S.O. with which he performed until 1951."
