B1352. ROM LANDAU. Ignacy Paderewski – Musician and Statesman. New York, Crown, 1934. 314pp. Index; Bibliography; Photos; DJ.
"Paderewski's two loves were his music and his country -- perhaps, then, his emotional life is an open book. His devotion to his wife is evident at every turn; beyond that, it seems he takes the adoration of the public in his stride. The political aspects are not so closely analyzed, but they are adequate. The anecdotes of his musical career overlap, to some extent, but there are fresh ones here. Interesting reading, even after the other; and more popular for the general reader, who wants not too technical a biography.”
