“In 1908 Marcelin took part in the song competition for amateur singers in France. Beginning in 1912 he was a member of the Opéra-Comique, Paris, where he appeared until 1930. He debuted there in his star role – Werther. On 9. 1. 1919 he sang at the Opéra-Comique the role of Werther in the 500-th performance of Massenet’s opera. His career stretched till the end of the 1930s with appearances in French and Belgian stages and at the concert hall. Later he was a pedagogue and professor of the Roubaix Conservatory.”
